O ’ Brate Stadium , the new home for Oklahoma State Baseball has almost every amenity a ballplayer or fan could ask for .
The opening of O ’ Brate Stadium has been long awaited by many Oklahoma State fans . It ’ s been three years since the press conference that announced the new home of the OSU baseball team was coming .
It was supposed to open a year ago , but one week prior to former President George W . Bush throwing out the first pitch to commemorate the stadium , COVID-19 shut down the sports world and soon after , many parts of the whole country .
“ That was Mr . ( Cecil ) O ’ Brate ’ s good friend ,” OSU baseball coach Josh Holliday said . “ I ’ m sure a lot of that has to do with his availability . That was definitely going to be a cool thing to have .”
Thoughts of maybe a late season opening were thrown around until the entire season was canceled . The longawaited successor to Allie P . Reynolds Stadium would have to wait nearly a year to open its gates to fans .
That opening came and went last month . The visually-stunning new home to the Cowboys has been enjoyed by fans , and of course , by the OSU coaches and players .
