niscent of mid-century , which was a very happy time in American history ,” Clark said .
Along with ornaments and Christmas trees , the mall has nativity sets and blow molds , which are hollow objects created by blowing plastic into a mold cavity , much like traditional glassblowing , according to America ’ s Antique Mall website . Made in the late 1930s , blow molds are plastic , light-up figures often found on front yards in years past – including blow molds such as candles , nativity sets , snowmen , Santa and reindeer .
Clark said before WWII until the 1950s , blow molds were made out of a hard plastic , but then as plastic developed , the blow molds were made of a different type of plastic . Most of the ones at the mall are now mostly from the 1950s to the 1970s .
“ Some of them are quite valuable ,” Clark said . “ They ’ re very much in demand .”
Clark said customers vary in demographics – from a 6-year-old who comes once a week to others who visit daily to Oklahoma State
University students and the elderly . Some customers come so regularly that Clark and her team have told them to let the team know when they ’ ll be gone so the team doesn ’ t worry about where they are .
The antique mall has all of these vintage Christmas items available , and much more . The store is open from 10 a . m . to 5:30 p . m . Monday through Friday , 10 a . m . to 5 p . m . Saturday and 1-5
SwOk p . m . Sunday .
