eople in Stillwater usually know where to find their favorite places if they have a cookie craving , sweet tooth or need to get a birthday or special occasion cake ...

ut what about when your pup has a birthday , would like a lick of ice cream or also wants a “ cookie .”
Little do most people know , but tucked away on the corner of N . Main Street and W . Hall of Fame Avenue is a unique , little bakery and treat shop – but it ’ s only for dogs .
Hannah Briegge and Devin Briegge are the owners of Three Dog Bakery in Stillwater , and one guess as to how many dogs they have … it ’ s three ! They also own Three Dog Bakery in Edmond .
Hannah Briegge , executive pastry chef , said they opened the first bakery in Stillwater in the summer of 2019 and last year bought the bakery in Edmond .
“ We opened in Stillwater first because we grew up in Perry , and if you grow up there , you pretty much grow up in Stillwater ,” she said . “ And we both love OSU .”
Hannah Briegge wasn ’ t always a chef and owner of a dog bakery . She worked as a nurse for many years in Stillwater , while her husband worked in construction .
Then one day they went into a Three Dog Bakery , which is a franchise , and she said they just both looked at each other and said , “ This is it . This is a really happy business to have . And we looked into opening our own .”
“ We had always had a family dog growing up , and after we got together we ’ ve always had dogs . They ’ re our family ,” Hannah Briegge said . “ So then we were like why not , you only live once . We should just do it or we ’ d be thinking about it forever .”
All dogs on leashes are welcome at the bakery , and while parvovirus is malevolent , and there is a new dog respiratory virus going around , Hannah Briegge said they have a special cleaner to mitigate these illnesses and people should know their fur friends are safe going there .
The bakery doesn ’ t just have bakery treats that are handmade on site with simple , healthy and wholesome ingredients . The store also carries chews , toys , food , collars , shampoos and other boutique dog supplies .
“ But the bakery is what sets us apart ,” Hannah Briegge said . Three Dog Bakery has ice cream or “ lickety splits ,” cannoli , cookies and cakes .
Training graduation day ? Pick up a peanut flavor cake with buttermilk and yogurt icing for your dog ’ s celebration , put on a party hats , have a great howl together and let the good times commence .
“ We have candles and birthday cakes , “ gotcha day ” cakes ( the day you “ got ” your best friend , she said ) and people can eat everything that we bake . It ’ s more bland because we don ’ t put added sugar in there . But there is icing on it .
We also have vanilla cakes that are fun because you can add fun coloring like purple or green . And then we have carob cakes , because dogs can ’ t have chocolate . The cake is just my favorite just because we know people are celebrating ,” she said .
Her favorite aspect about the bakery is when people bring in their puppies and they become regulars , she said .
“ We get to watch this dog grow up and this is how we make the connection with the community and it ’ s fun to take care of them through the years ,” Hannah Briegge said .
She also said she couldn ’ t have opened the second bakery without help of the Stillwater bakery general manager Savannah Brown .
I love working at the bakery , said Brown . My boss , the work environment and the customers make going into work fun . Also having a job I ’ m passionate about , and love , is the best . I also get to bring my dog into work every day .
Brown worked at a veterinary clinic when she was younger and thought she might go to the veterinary college at OSU and so she moved to Stillwater .
“ But I was also obsessed with Cake Boss ( a reality show about baking cakes ) and I would try to make my own cakes . So I like to think I ’ ve found my perfect match at the bakery !” Brown said .
Together Brown and the Briegges through the bakery in Stillwater are strong supporters of the Humane Society of Stillwater hosting events , collecting donations and doing fundraising .
“ We have a donation basket people can drop things off for ,” Hannah Briegge said . “ We also host ‘ Pictures with Santa ’ where we have a photographer come to the bakery for free pictures of your dog with Santa , but people always donate and all funds go to the Humane Society .”
