BABS burritos take some time to consume , but their restaurant-style chips are hard to beat .

BABS brings Southwest

flare to food truck scene

Owning and operating a food truck is a family affair for the Humbles . Randy and Liz , along with their two daughters , serve up the most delicious — and biggest — burritos in town ( and I know this because I ' ve devoured them multiple times ).

Having relocated to Stillwater from New Mexico , they were missing the savory and spicy flavors from back home and struggled to find something similar here . So why not start a new food business in the middle of a pandemic !? Deciding to go all-in with some recipes and a dream , BABS opened in October of 2021 . The Humbles have always enjoyed cooking together as a family and having the food truck is a way for them to stay connected throughout their busy lives and hectic schedules . Working with her hands as a barber and a seamstress during the day , being creative with food comes naturally to Liz .
Originally only offering hearty breakfast burritos in the wee hours of the morning , they quickly realized the demand for fresh quality food was high at all times of the day and evening . Sourcing local produce and frequenting Stillwater ' s farmer ' s markets , BABS has expanded their menu to also include tacos , nachos , and quesadillas . They offer several meat selections , and you can even get your burrito in a bowl . Everything is made-toorder from scratch , and they even make their own chips . I happen to think they have the best restaurant-style tortilla chips I ' ve ever eaten .
Fun fact : They stay fresh in a brown paper sack for days ( three to be exact )! Pair the chips with their handcrafted salsa , queso , or guacamole . You can ' t go wrong with any of these choices . And be sure to dump the queso on everything you order- yum !
You can locate BABS food truck during the week at local breweries Stonecloud and Iron Monk . Their truck is also available for corporate catering , wedding receptions , parties , and events at the Payne County Fairgrounds . They recently started offering their food on Door Dash as well . Follow BABS on Facebook and Instagram for behind-the-scenes content of their food-making skills . For inquiries about hosting their food truck , email babs . burritos2021 @ gmail . com . The long term goal for BABS is eventually opening a brick and mortar storefront . Until then , go check out my favorite burrito barista ( is that a thing ?) at her food truck !
