All the things progress can mean
Progress isn ’ t all that hard to define but still , it can mean many different things .
Something can go backward , remain motionless or go forward . If it goes forward , that ’ s progress .
The difference lies in all the ways a person , place or thing can move forward .
For a community , progress could mean having a lot of women in charge .
It probably hasn ’ t been lost on many Payne County residents just how much of our local leadership is held by women , the Stillwater city manager , the university president and provost , the Stillwater Medical regional health system , commerce , tourism , and as we ’ ll see here , many of our local businesses .
This edition is packed with profiles , maybe more than we ’ ve ever put it one place , so thank you so very much to the people who have shared their stories with us .
