challenging , but they made it work . With different productions happening in each separate room of the Marquez ' s threebedroom house , they realized they would soon need more space .
With the help of her brothers , a Pandamonium Pets location was an attainable goal . Staying true to your heart and your mission will almost always lead to the fruition of your dreams .
Being well known for rescuing several Chinchillas , people started reaching out about other exotic small pets they wanted to surrender . Katherine has taken in and successfully adopted Sugar Gliders , Hedge Hogs , and Rabbits . She does have a strict adoption application , including proof of purchasing the proper enclosures and food , which everyone should be getting from her store already . Katherine and Jose have traveled to several surrounding states to pick up and deliver animals . They also go to schools for speaking engagements to educate students and teachers about proper pet care .
I got to tour their rescue facility where the shelter is and the space where they hand make each and every item that leaves the building .
The amount of research , thought , and care that goes into their toys , treats , and subscription boxes is impressive . Katherine and her staff even make sure that no ingredients ( nuts , berries , etc ) are cross-contaminated due to some smaller animals having allergies . And yes , she still has that very first one who started it all , Yuki .
After a bit of research , Katherine found out there are only 10 exotic small animal rescues in the United States , and they are one of three in Oklahoma .
When you enter Pandamonium Pets , you ' ll see the picture wall of adopted animals . Katherine has established her rescue as a non-profit and is currently finalizing the paperwork for a 501C .
Pandamonium Pets will be having their official grand opening in July , so make sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram for announcements and cute pictures of their rescued animals .
When I asked Katherine about how she came up with the name , she told me that she loves Pandas . I guess if you can ' t own one , you can name your business after one .
