Season’ s greetings to you and yours!
Season’ s Greeting, friends.
Yule probably have no trouble guessing the type of year we’ ve had.
We moved into our new home in April. We held our open house in June. Why did it take that long to get ourselves ready for the public? Thank you for the question, we had a great open house and we love our new digs.
Mike, you’ ll be happy to know, has been welcomed back to the community as publisher and greets his staff several times a week with his Van Halen cellphone ring tone. Rock on, Mike.
Katie is glad we successfully got moved into our new offices without too many things lost or broken and helped replace the old box truck with a nice transit van.
She has been back at the Stillwater News Press for over a year now and has managed not to mess anything up too much since she has been back.
Beau has put more than 40,000 miles on his car since being put in charge of newsrooms in Enid and Woodward. His gesture at being a local for each location has been to buy a ball cap for every high school.
Jason lost over 100 pounds this past year with the inspiration of his 2-year-old niece, Annika. He walked in his first 5k event with his niece rolling by his side. Thanks to a birthday gift from his wife, he fulfilled a lifelong dream of attending the musical“ The Book of Mormon” while on tour at the Oklahoma City Civic Center Music Hall.
Susie G is still here because we wouldn’ t let her quit.
Susie O has quickly become everyone’ s favorite.
Jessica was pleased to receive the Media Support Professional of the Year award from the American Legion Department of Oklahoma( brag much), and learned how to do origami. She also reached a milestone by bringing her 20th pot roast lunch into work during the month of September.( Gift idea: Recipe book).
Brylee didn’ t give us an update, but we’ re still going to make her go to community events and be the de facto face of the News Press.
Braden, interestingly enough, has not once been threatened with having his credential revoked to OSU press conferences. Weird.
Jennifer hit a big milestone this year by turning 50! Apparently you can sign up for AARP at 50, so she did. Her free insulated tote bag will be here any day now. She also got diagnosed with bursitis, osteoarthritis and bone spurs in her shoulder. Let the good times roll.
Julie received an autumn gift a few weeks ago. She went outside in the morning and discovered an invasive sweet autumn clematis had arrived during the night. In one night, the vine had covered every backyard shrub and every shrub on the north side of the house. She noticed later in the day the vine was advancing to other neighborhood houses.
She tried playing Monopoly with her grandchildren John and Lois. She may have to end these games because her grandson routinely beats her now and it won’ t be long before her granddaughter wins, also. Much to her dismay both have discovered winning strategies
