“ The Salvation Army joins millions around the world in mourning the passing of Dolly Parton, a beloved artist, a treasured friend to The Salvation Army and, above all, a woman whose deep faith was reflected in the way she loved and served others. The Salvation Army held a special place in her life of caring for others.”
Christmas shopping for them anywhere you please. The Salvation Army then distributes them to the families, allowing parents and caregivers to place the presents under the tree on Christmas morning, preserving dignity, while creating joy for everyone involved. The Payne County Fairgrounds lets our Salvation Army house their Angel Tree project in one of their large buildings.
Captains Andrew and Shannon Thornson have become dear friends to my husband and me, and I am so glad that the Stillwater community has them in their corner. I’ m positive almost anything you’ ve heard about the Salvation Army is wrong. Did you know that The Salvation Army actually has a church here in town where they provide many of the services I’ ve listed? Most people don’ t and assume that The Salvation Army is only a thrift store. The thrift store was also for raising funds, but with the store closure they have lost one of their main revenue sources. The Salvation Army is a non-profit organization that relies solely on donated funds / items and specific grants. There are so many ways to get involved and all you have to do is stop by their location at 1101 S. Lowry or call 405.372.1554. Paulette has been the office manager for over 15 years, and she’ ll be happy to give you any information you’ d like! Tell her Jennifer sent you.
And one more thing, any organization that Dolly Parton loved( and they loved her back) will certainly be supported by me!
“ The Salvation Army joins millions around the world in mourning the passing of Dolly Parton, a beloved artist, a treasured friend to The Salvation Army and, above all, a woman whose deep faith was reflected in the way she loved and served others. The Salvation Army held a special place in her life of caring for others. At 18 years old, newly arrived in Nashville and unable to afford a trip home for Christmas, Dolly found her way to The Salvation Army and served meals to others, bringing her comfort and community during a Christmas when she needed both.”
