Capturing the spirit of gameday
For almost 39 years, Chris ' University Spirit has serviced Stillwater by providing high-quality wearable designs for the whole family, including pets.
Current owner, Dustin MacDonald, started at the store two years after it opened under the founder and owner, Chris Norris, who graduated from Oklahoma State University and fell in love with creating OSU-themed products.
“ I started working for Chris in 1998 and stayed on for 12 years, then left for five years,” MacDonald said.“ During those five years, I owned the Brown ' s Shoe Fit Store in Woodward, then had the opportunity to come back to Chris ' in 2015 and took over in January 2017.”
MacDonald said operating the store during the pandemic was one of the hardest things he’ s done, but now, five years later, the store is thriving because of the support of the community and state.
“ We strive to be the best Oklahoma State fan shop not only in Stillwater, but in Oklahoma. We offer our prod- ucts online as well, and ship to all 50 states every day of the year,” he said.“ It ' s our customer service that sets us apart from our competitors. If you are not properly greeted at the door every time, then our employees will hear from me directly!”
Chris ' University Spirit offers tons of items, including yard signs, apparel and pet accessories, as well as creating your own design options.
But, MacDonald said the most popular items are the everyday Oklahoma State Classics Arch designs. He said it’ s offered in short-and long-sleeved shirts, crewnecks, and hoodies for adult and youth sizes.
MacDonald said he always tries to keep up with trends and what’ s popular but the store has always had pet accessories.
“ We have had OSU pet accessories for as long as I can remember. I think the first OSU pet accessory was an OSU cat collar, with a little bell on it,” he said.
The 2025 football season is right around the corner, the busiest time of year for Chris ' University Spirit. Stop by for a new game day outfit, yard sign or Greek bid day attire.
