That was just a hint of what would erupt on March 7. Late that afternoon, David Peters, a resident in a fraternity house west of The Strip, said it was surreal to observe small groups from fraternity and sorority houses, residence halls, and off-campus slowly swelling into larger groups and funneling to The Strip.
“ The weather had cooperated,” Peters said.“ It had been a cold, dreary winter, but now the clouds lifted and the sun shone. The migration( of students) took several hours but eventually thousands were on Washington Street,” Peters said.( Witnessing such history seemed only appropriate for Peters, of Stillwater, who made a career of researching and collecting OSU history and is now the retired head of the school’ s Special Collections and University Archives Department.)
