That was just a hint of what would erupt on March 7. Late that afternoon, David Peters, a resident in a fraternity house west of The Strip, said it was surreal to observe small groups from fraternity and sorority houses, residence halls, and off-campus slowly swelling into larger groups and funneling to The Strip.
“ The weather had cooperated,” Peters said.“ It had been a cold, dreary winter, but now the clouds lifted and the sun shone.
