PRIMETIME MEAT AND WINE: A FOCUS ON THE CUSTOMER
Primetime Meat and Wine owner Alex Webber is easy to spot. At 6 feet 10 inches tall, the former OSU basketball player dwarfs most people. But the broad, friendly smile he shares as he personally greets everyone entering his shop is every bit as noticeable as his height. It’ s part of his emphasis on customer experience and quality to set his store apart.
“ Our customer service is something that we focus on,” Webber said.“ We greet everyone, we thank everyone. We’ re very appreciative.”
Despite being known for their hand-cut meat and fresh-made bratwurst, the store is not a butcher shop, Webber says. It’ s more of a specialty grocery store with everything you need for a meal from the meat, vegetables, drinks, and dessert to the grill and charcoal for cooking it.
They haven’ t worked out how to carry fresh vegetables or dairy yet but Webber said he is working on ways to expand their offerings. He would also like to be able to accept SNAP benefits because people have told him they would like to be able to buy his fresh, high quality ground beef. Webber says he would like to become even more of a grocery store and to eventually incorporate some type of delivery service. But that’ s down the road.
