A labor of love: From humble beginnings,
DUNCAN CATERING SETTING AMBITIOUS GOALS
While most little girls are playing with dolls, Kris Duncan was in the kitchen with her mom, cooking and baking every chance she got. By 8 years old, she was taking notes and creating recipes. And what 10-year-old isn’ t teaching themselves measuring conversions? It was in that kitchen with her mother that baking was decided as her love language.
The mother-daughter duo’ s shared passion for food allowed them to open Hello Catering. After a decade of owning a business together, Kris decided it was time to go out on her own. They sold Hello Catering, and she hasn’ t looked back. Growing up in the kitchen and the knowledge she learned as a business owner had set Kris up for success.
Kris met her future husband Chad, and they bonded over appetizers and creating menus. While most young couples are dreaming about weddings and vacations, they were planning the perfect kitchen and going on food tasting trips. They became volunteer cooks at the Elks Lodge, provided food for Meals on Wheels, and made dinners for kids at their church on a regular basis.
Kris was feeling unfulfilled at her day job, so one afternoon she started creating logos, menus and a website for a hypothetical business and sent them to Chad. He knew it was just a matter of time until they were launching a business. The pandemic

solidified their decision to leave the corporate world and start building their dream together. Still utilizing the Elks Lodge kitchen, the decision to establish their own storefront came after four weddings landed on one Saturday.
The Duncans had the opportunity to take over the old Pizza West location in 2024, and together with their son Daden, their business exploded.
