Meridian’ s Business and Entrepreneurial Services division supports startups and small businesses through coaching, training, consulting and access to operating space. Since 1997, over 120 businesses have graduated from Meridian’ s business incubator.
“ We help businesses innovate with confidence,” said Alex Evers, executive director of workforce and economic development.“ The more we can encourage creative thinking and strategic development, the stronger our communities become.”
Meridian’ s goal has always been empowering individuals and strengthening communities through education and innovation.
“ Every program, partnership and idea that takes shape here begins with that purpose in mind,” Major said. And the future? The goal is to continue anticipating the workforce needs of the district and the state rather than simply reacting to them, Major said.
“ That includes expanding access to training, strengthening partnerships with schools and employers, and developing programs in industries where skilled workers are in high demand,” Major said.“ We must also continue helping students understand that career and technology education can lead to a strong career, further education or both.” SwOk
