Saville Center - Carolynn Macallister has been involved with the Saville Center for Child Advocacy for many years . Their work addressing the results of child abuse was vital , but Macallister said she hated having to wait until after the child had been hurt . She learned there are ways to build protective factors that encourage resilience into our communities to offset the lasting impacts of trauma that ultimately affect society as a whole .
Resilient Payne County - The founding members of the Resilient Payne County coalition gathered in the meeting room at United Way of Payne County to organize and plan . Since retiring from OSU ’ s College of Veterinary Medicine , Carolynn Macallister has made a second , unpaid , career advocating for children and families .
