Letter from Robin Anthony , Executive Director / President
Greetings Chamber Members !
It is my honor and privilege to continue to lead this forwardlooking organization into another year . April 1 marked my fourth year with the Chamber , and I am proud to serve our community in partnership with other community leaders . We have a dedicated Chamber staff , Board of Directors , and of course our Ambassador Team ( aka - The A-Team ) who volunteer many hours of their personal time to serve the Chamber and its mission .
Our biggest highlight in 2019 was to launch a community leadership program called Leadership in the Valley . With the assistance of a highly professional and energetic steering committee and months of hard work , we launched our first cohort in September of 2019 . This program has been a huge success and the program is now accepting applications for the 2020-2021 class . We have so much to offer here in the valley , so much historic , passion and pride . This is a nine-month program which will launch in September of 2020 and conclude in May of 2021 . After attending this nine-month program , participants will have learned more about the community , its value , and become a highly engaged leader personally and professionally .
As I prepare this letter , we are in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic and my heart goes out to our business community and of course the world . This is unprecedented times , and we together have been part of history . As a Chamber of Commerce , we have multiple purposes , yet in tragic times like this , Chambers lead ; it is what Chambers were built for . We have stepped up with immediate communications , resources . and tools to assist the businesses ’ implemented campaigns and became the voice of our community in many ways . In a recent email to me Ted Wegleitner , President of Lakeview Hospital , said to me , “ Our Chamber is a beacon of hope .” We will get through this together because we are stronger together .
Our most important asset to the Chamber is our committed members who understand the value to invest in their business and the greater good of the community . Our membership counts are large for a community our size at over 500 active Chamber members . We continue to work with our businesses , municipalities , county , schools , and civic organizations for the betterment of our community . My door is always open to ideas and feedback , so please stop in anytime .
Thank you all for your continued support for the Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce . We believe strongly in our tagline , “ Bridging Business & Community ;” and are here to serve you as we get through this together . We are # valleystrong .
Warmest Regards ,
Robin Anthony Executive Director / President , IOM Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce
