Renown Therapy Dog Adventures Start Here
Have a good dog that loves people ? We can show you the steps to get your dog certified as a therapy dog to be able to visit staff and patients in the hospital !
Therapy dogs need two certifications to start in the Renown Pet Therapy Program , these certifications will ensure the safety of your pet as well as any guests you meet while you are doing your therapy work :
• Canine Good Citizen or CGC is a 10- step skill test that demonstrates dog and handler abilities in common situations . GCG basic information and the test questions can be found here : akc . org / products-services / trainingprograms / canine-good-citizen / what-is-canine-good-citizen /
• Certificate of insurance via a nationally recognized organization such as Alliance of Therapy Dogs . This step includes your dog being observed in a variety of settings by a local tester / observer . Website : therapydogs . com /
