Meet Patty Warren
In this fall edition of Seasons , we get to know our featured member , Patty Warren . You may recognize her from the latest Senior Care Plus commercial on television . She ’ s one of the kindest souls you ’ ll ever meet – and has a positive outlook on life that we should all strive for .
Patty was born and raised in a small Kansas town called Baxter Springs . She developed a love and passion for music at a young age that carried into her adulthood . “ I wanted to be an opera singer ,” said Patty . “ I decided to go to college at Pittsburg State University in Kansas where I majored in vocal performance .” After college , Patty moved to Manhattan to audition to be an opera singer , but she soon realized it wasn ’ t what she wanted to do after all . She eventually decided to work in the brokerage industry .
Three years later , Patty moved back to Kansas where she met the love of her life , Michael . “ I had put a dating ad in the local newspaper ,” said Patty . “ I received over 30 responses , and I went out on quite a few dates .” When she had her first date with Michael , the two of them quickly realized how much they liked each other . He asked her to marry him on Valentine ’ s Day in 1993 . “ We had a small wedding so that we could move into our first home together ,” said Patty . A few years later , Patty and Michael moved to Arizona , where they lived for 22 years . Patty worked at Edward Jones Investments for 18 years and loved her job . She retired in January 2021 during the pandemic , and three days later she and Michael moved to Sparks , Nevada .
Patty had her first experience at Renown Health a couple of months later . Her
primary care provider diagnosed her with sepsis , an infection she had developed from her knee replacement surgery in Arizona prior to moving . “ My doctor recognized my signs and immediately sent me to the emergency room at Renown Regional Medical Center ,” said Patty . “ I ended up staying in the hospital for a week , where I received the best care .” When Patty became eligible for Medicare , she enrolled in Senior Care Plus .“ Everyone at Senior Care Plus and Renown are so helpful and friendly . I love how easily I can make an appointment and get the care that I need ,” said Patty .
Patty sadly lost her husband Michael this past December . She ’ s forever grateful for their 30 years together – they made many memories and enjoyed a shared love and passion for rock and roll music , concerts , travel and baseball games . Patty continues to live life to the fullest and finds joy in spending time with her dog Jesse , taking Zumba classes and singing and dancing her heart out to her favorite music . “ I ’ ve also really enjoyed meeting new people through Senior Care Plus and going to the different community functions and events ,” said Patty . “ It ’ s been a lot of fun .”
