BY TAMARA GREGOR

When it comes to positivity , motivation and personality , the dancers for the Duncan Pom Team hold fast while staying true to themselves .

Duncan Pom Coach Beth Curry said the team has accumulated several new members this year , incorporating new personalities into the squad .
“ Having new personalities allows the team to grow and push through the changes that come with these new teammates ,” she said .
Curry ’ s expectations for the team : “ Work hard and let their love of dance show in our pep rallies , halftime performances , benevolent acts and any other place where people are watching ,” she said .
According to Coach Curry , the Pom Squad continues to work on a variety of skills , which will shine a spotlight on their strengths and abilities as dancers .
“ We have already done some incredible things through our annual
pom camp ,” she said . “ The girls have already learned one halftime routine and will be learning another within a few weeks .”
This year , Curry said the squad looks forward to OSDTDA ( Oklahoma State Dance Team Director ’ s Association ) again .
“ With that commitment comes the expectation for a strong work ethic , … pushing past limits and continual encouragement , as well as guidance and correction to and for each other ,” she said .
With a main focus and goal to become role models by being a positive influence in the community , Curry said their team hopes to also show community support by volunteering more often .
“ We hope to be able to volunteer more and use our influence to return support and show love to our community ,” she said .
