Logan Bain will be one of the top receivers for the Indians and then Tucker Oliver , one of the first running backs to go over 1,000 yards , will return to run the ball .
Comanche also netted transfer student Gabe Diaz from Empire , who will also prove a big factor for the Indians . Rowell believes the work ethic of Diaz will rub off on the whole team .
Another move , Landen Steele , started on defense in spring ball and Rowell believes his spring ball success will move to Friday nights .
Colby Shannon , a younger player , will also pose another threat of getting the ball and will look to head into district play with the districts realigned to feature a few old and new teams .
With a fourth place finish in district play and a tough non-district schedule to begin 2022 , Rowell believes the main component for success is the communication between coaches and players .
Rowell , in his fourth season as head coach for the Indians , said he has studied great coaches in previous districts and thinks expectations are huge heading into the season .
“ Our coaches are more prepared than they ’ ve ever been and I don ’ t think anybody can count us out ,” Rowell said . “ We got to be able to call the play – a guy doesn ’ t go the right direction and we have had little

7:30 p . m . Sept . 2 on the road against Mangum while the home opener will kickoff at 7:30 pm . Sept . 9 against the defending 2A State Champions , the Marlow Outlaws , who moved up to 3A this year .
