With student involvement in mind , the Central High Bronchos cheer squad looks forward to serving as a source of encouragement during the school year .
After a successful and fulfilling time at cheer camp , Cheer Coach Kelli Baker says the squad has worked hard to nail their new material .
“ The girls have worked hard all summer , helping new squad members learn over a dozen dances and 40 or so cheers ,” Baker said . “ At camp , they learned lots of new material and stunting skills . I was very proud of all of the effort through bruises ,

According to Baker , eight Bronchos cheerleaders received the prestigious honor of becoming Universal Cheer Association ( UCA ) All-American cheer leaders during their time at cheer camp .
Baker said the upcoming school year will involve plenty of collaboration between the cheer squad and the high school band .
“ We are working very closely with our band again this year to give our fans the most entertaining experience possible ,” Baker said . “ Last year , we felt like
working with the band more closely and learning what songs they were working on allowed us to be more prepared on the sidelines , so we have spent a great deal of time practicing dances that work well with the music the band is playing .”
According to Baker , the squad will also prioritize school spirit and student involvement this year .
“ One of our main focuses this year is going to be overall school spirit . This year is our school Centennial , and we really want to get students in all organizations and community members involved in helping the cheerleaders promote positive school spirit ,” Baker said .
