You can mention the word “ change ” to Marlow head football coach Matt Weber . You can wonder about “ roster voids ” and “ youth ” and “ inexperience .” But don ’ t you dare utter the word “ re …” REBUILD . “ The word REBUILD won ’ t ever come out of our mouths ,” Weber said .

Ok , let ’ s call it waking from a dream – the dream season of 2021 , the 15-0 campaign , that ended with the Outlaws winning the school ’ s first state football title since 1964 .
It ’ s been eight months since Weber & Company hoisted the Class 2A Gold Ball after edging Washington , 17-13 , in the title tilt at the University of Central Oklahoma .
A lot has changed . Gone are nine starters on both sides of the ball , including one playing Division 1 football , four playing Division II football and one playing Division I baseball . The top passer ? Graduated . The five top rushers ? All gone . Four of the top five receivers ? See ya down the road .
Only lonely Avery Payne and Joseus Flores remain from a starting lineup that produced the best season in school history . Payne will be back at wide receiver and defensive back , and is arguably the county ’ s top player . Flores will return at right tack on offense and jump in the defensive lineup at defensive tackle .
