OCTOBER 2013 - SPECIAL FOCUS – SHIP ACCESS
The October issue focuses on SHIP ACCESS The number of Pilots and Ships’ Crew who have fallen or faced injuries during ship access is staggering. The figures for fatalities are even more grim. As per study done by Australian Transport Safety Board from 1989 – 1992, there were 54 deaths reported per year per 100,000 persons during ship access as compared to 5.5 deaths per 100,000 workers of all types in Australia.. It is time to rethink our processes & MAKE THE STEP CHANGE. Please send your ideas and Industry Best Practices to www.stepchangeforsafety.com
