Message to the Industry In the Industrial activities, even in our day to day life, Material handling is one of the common tasks. As well, Materials handling is one of the leading causes of disabling occupational injuries. Manual material handling accidents result in a variety of injuries. Objects and load may fall and injure hands, feet, and legs. Lifting may cause muscle strains and joint injuries. By far the most common injuries from manual handlings are back injuries. Many of the shipboard activities involve the manual material handling. To train the shipboard members on the proper manual handling techniques is one of the administrative control measures to prevent the manual handling injuries which involves recognition of dangers in Manual handling, how to avoid unnecessary stress, and what a person can handle safely. Remarks A very good initiative by Farstad. Thanks for sharing with us. Submitted by File upload Added Time [email protected] FARSTAD_Manual_Handling_Training_Part_1.pdf 06-Feb-2013
