LESSON PLAN IDEAS COLORFUL E V I T A E R C NECTIONS CON INTEGRATING SCIENCE AND ART JEAN PELEZO In the Spring of 2014, North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory sent out an invitation for teachers to participate in the Governor’s Teacher Network (GTN). Approximately 450 teachers statewide were selected to conduct action research in their classrooms and share the results with colleagues during professional development, or create unit lesson plans to share within the state’s database. As one of the awardees of this honor, I chose to focus on the research of integrating the Art’s into the Science content. The following are a few examples of various Science/Art integrated lessons that I conducted in my classroom. Though the content is focused from 6th grade Science and Art Standards, the concepts and processes can be adapted to any grade level or content area.
