In order to reach more students, Get in the Act is developing Professional Development Workshops for teachers so that they can engage their students with this fresh method of learning. This philosophy for effective teaching will provide students with different avenues to learning and making sense of ideas. Consequently, all students within a classroom can learn effectively, regardless of differences in ability. Whether students wore cowboy hats, climbed mountains and volcanoes, or portrayed James Bond Geologist in search of the rarest mineral, Science Theater inspired more than 1000 students in Nevada with science learning that connected core concepts to their everyday world by using the imagination of the arts. Science Theater: Rocks and Minerals Program was sponsored by Newmont Mining, Joy Global Foundation, Barrick Gold and Silver Standard Resources. Get in the Act sincerely thanks these companies for their generous support.
