The trails are the project of the 2020 Lake Cumberland Leadership Class , a program sponsored by the Somerset-Pulaski Chamber of Commerce , which brings together local leaders for a nine-month program aimed at building business relations and fostering community involvement .
As if that weren ’ t enough , Rocky Hollow Park has a full 18 “ hole ” disc golf course , and the Joe Ford Amphitheater where various plays , concerts and venues can be found throughout the year .
The park also has a unique basketball experience for those who want to play ball on a mural painted by a well-known local artist .
Amanda Brooks designed and painted the court of the outdoor basketball area , which is found on Dearl Whitaker Road .
Different areas of the surface are in different designs , representing the symbolism behind the City of Somerset ’ s logo – known to many as the “ propeller .” The mural gives the court a colorful , abstract surface to practice on .
The sign at the South Main entrance to Rocky Hollow shows how the new playground will look once completed .
