They have even acquired the space next door to the showroom , giving them more room to work with , which means being able to expand the number of services they offer – from wall treatments to upholstering furniture .
Rozella Roberts started the business more than 30 years ago after learning about the untapped market for redecorating houseboats at her former employer , Sharpe Houseboats .
It ’ s an opportunity for customers to see Rozella more often than when she was the only one going out and doing all the work in the field , Jacinda said .
Even with Rozella still involved , Jacinda said she is on the lookout for additions to their team .
“ We hope to get some new young artists that have a passion or desire to learn the art of being a seamstress and an upholstery person as we grow ,” Jacinda said .
The expanded showroom will still have the fabric library and workroom to produce custom bedding , window treatments and cushions .
They will also be carrying a full array of wallpaper and wall coverings , “ to give residents and boat owners alike a place to shop for every kind of wall paper that ’ s available ,” Jacinda said . “ We will also have lots of new vendors that maybe haven ’ t been accessible in Somerset , for lighting , indoor furniture , outdoor furniture and home accessories that will be available for custom order as well .”
The showroom is open by appointment only for the convenience of both their customers and the workroom .
Work on their own building hasn ’ t slowed the duo down , however . “ It has been a crazy summer for us ,” Jacinda said . “... it has probably been one of the best seasons .
They have added the ability to do upholstery work on a client ’ s existing pieces of furniture and can refurbish older pieces of furniture to give them new life .
