“ Double Deckers are outstanding ; can ’ t beat a ham and bacon , it ’ s a BLT with ham ,” said Hornback . “ We get our tomatoes from local farmers in the summer and it makes them taste even better . We also offer a harvest and BBQ salad .”
And , said Hornback , “ You have to try our garlic parm fries .”
Gold Star also offers catering services for special events or luncheons as well as a concession trailer for mobile convenience in Pulaski and surrounding counties . You ’ ll often see it at events like Somernites Cruise or Master Musicians Festival , and it even goes out to factories during the week .
“ Gold Star concessions does well on two fronts ,” said Hornback . “ It is good to be community-involved and help support and donate to programs like Operation Angel Care and foster care programs . We also have the same quality of food as in the restaurant .”
Somerset may not be Ohio , but local customers enjoy the great flavor of Gold Star Chili throughout the year , while summertime visitors are always pleased to find a familiar name awaiting them just off of Lake Cumberland ’ s friendly shores .
“ They are pleasantly surprised and compliment us regularly on our quality and taste ,” said Hornback of the “ Ohio Navy ” tourists . “ We strive to offer the same chili love as in Cincinnati and northern Kentucky .”
