Renovations began in late August 2013 and were concluded in late October. The major updates include a newly resurfaced pool shell, and upgrades to the filters and chlorination system. A double-pool slide was also added to the shallow end. The children’s pool now boasts interactive water features and a zero-depth entry. We are pleased to be able to offer these new aquatic amenities to our community, which are an added enhancement to the historical gem that is Gypsy Hill Park. The pool will open, with unchanged rates, on Memorial Day weekend. This will begin the start of our weekend hours, which will be extended to full operating summer hours starting June 9. The first 50 people that visit the pool on Saturday, May 24 will receive a special treat. Have a wonderful summer and we hope to see you soon. -Chris Tuttle, Director, Staunton Parks & Recreation Admission: 3 years and younger: Free 4 years and older: $3 Pool Pass: 20 Visits $50 Pool Party Rentals: $200, 3 hour minimum + $50/guard, 15 or less:1 guard, 15 or more: 2 guards Lifeguard Training Course This class equips lifeguard candidates with the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic related emergencies.
