AmeriCAn AirlinES will launch new daily service from Dallas Fort Worth( DFW) International Airport to Rome, Italy as well as to Amsterdam, The Netherlands, beginning in May of 2017. Both new flights will be operated daily on a seasonal basis, from May to September for the summer travel season. American will fly from DFW to Rome’ s Leonardo da Vinci – Fiumicino Airport with Boeing 777-200 aircraft. American will serve the route from DFW to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol with Boeing 767-300 aircraft. Azores AirlinES SATA International( Portugal) has committed to lease six new Airbus A321neo aircraft including four A321LR versions, the Air Lease Corporation has announced. The CFM Leap 1A engine-powered aircraft from ALC’ s order book with Airbus will deliver between the fourth quarter of 2017 and early 2021. These aircrafts will connect Portugal and Azores to cities in the United States and Canada, including Boston, Oakland, Providence, Toronto and Montreal, in addition to major Western European cities, through an extensive transatlantic network.

China AirlinES plans to resume Taipei-London service with the A350 by the end of 2016. The number of Taiwanese visitors to the UK has grown since China Airlines exited London in 2012, but volume is still small and onestop competition has grown in what is mostly a leisure and pricesensitive market. China Airlines is stressing the opportunity to connect London with its growing Australian markets, but its three online Australian cities are served less than daily.Dublin Airport welcomed the launch of Aer Lingus’ new direct transatlantic service to Newark, New Jersey. Aer Lingus will operate its new daily service to Newark on a year-round basis. Dublin Airport currently has five airlines now flying over 280 times to and from 11 destinations in the US on a weekly basis, an average of 40 return flights daily. Passengers travelling on Aer Lingus’ new service to Newark will use US pre clearance facilities at Dublin meaning passengers save time on arrival in the US by completing all the necessary immigration and customs checks prior to departure. The only queue a precleared passenger encounters on arrival in the US is the taxi queue to their final destination. |
Delta’ s joint venture partner Virgin Australia will launch nonstop service between Melbourne and Los Angeles in 2017, which would provide Delta customers direct access to Melbourne, Australia. EtiHAD Airways will add three weekly flights between Abu Dhabi and Sydney to operate a double-daily schedule from February 6, 2017. The morning departure from Abu Dhabi – EY450 – and the afternoon departure from Sydney – EY451 – will increase from four to seven flights per week. This enhancement to the airline’ s Sydney schedule comes with the move by strategic partner Virgin Australia to shift its Australia to Abu Dhabi operation from Sydney to Perth from June 9, 2017. Ethiopian AirlinES will start flights to Moroni, Comoros, from October 30 with the latest B737- 800 New Generation with Sky Interior. The flights to Moroni will be operated thrice weekly via Dar es Salaam. Moroni will be Ethiopian’ s 54th African destination.

two firm orders and three purchase rights. The contract has an estimated value of USD 249 million at the current list price, if all purchase rights are exercised. The two aircraft will be delivered in 2017. The firm order will be included in Embraer’ s 2016 thirdquarter backlog.
EmbrAEr has inaugurated a new 50,000 square foot manufacturing facility for its premium seating solutions subsidiary, Embraer Aero Seating Technologies( EAST), in the City of Titusville, Florida. The operation will soon start production of seats dedicated to the company’ s business and commercial aviation products, including the seats for the first class cabin of its next generation commercial aircraft family, the E-Jets E2.
Fraport signed a Memorandum of Understanding( MoU) with Beijing Capital International Airport and Air China on September 21 in Beijing, for future cooperation in expanding flight frequencies between the two hubs of Beijing( PEK) and Frankfurt( FRA). In addition to coordinating communications and marketing activities, the MoU will focus on developing special customised airport services at the representative airports for passengers of both countries.
