HISTORY MAKING UPDATE CONGRATULATIONS
ALEXANDRA GERMAIN 1ST RUNNER UP
MISS BLACK AMERICA
August 18, 2018 Alexandra Germain became the first New Mexico representative to compete at the national level of competition for the Miss Black America Pageant.
The Miss Black America Pageant was created in 1968 on Atlantic City, NJ as a
positive protest of the discriminatory
practices of the Miss America. It
has since grown to be a symbol
of Black pride, achievement and
determination of woman of African
descent both nationally and globally.
This year's Miss Black America Pageant, was held in Kansas City, MO at the GEM theater .
Alexandra successfully competed and finished among the top 10 in all three categories : Swimwear, Talent, Projections and Onstage Questions .
She was selected as the First Runner Up
from among 23 competitors representing
23 states throughout the Nation.
The judging consisted of 2 sets of 8
different judges . Judges for the
spectacular event included:
Model/actresss Claudia Jordan,
Record Producer, Mike Zombie,
Ebony Haley from Revolt, Andre
Williams, Sr A&R Executive at
Universal Music Group,the 1991
Miss Black America Sharmell Sullivan and 8 year child prodigy Amoy Antunet.
