The Abuja International Model United Nations Conference (AIMUN) is an annual simulation of the United Nations diplomatic functions, hosts by the Model United Nations of the University of Abuja in collaboration with the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC, Lagos) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The participants at the AIMUN conference are called Ambassadors and are grouped into committees; Security Council, ECOSOC, ECOFIN SOCHUM and other United Nations agencies, Funds and Programmes. These youth Ambassadors will choose a country of their choice, research the background policies of the chosen country for effective representation and step forward to dare the dons of the world leaders by assuming the responsibilities of the UN member states Ambassadors to proffer solutions to the world most daunting challenges such as Climate Change, Discrimination, Terrorism, Refugee crisis, Human Rights Violation and Cyber Security, using the policies and perspectives of those individual member State they represent.
