This system, together with the artists, lies at the core of these new projects. The Mayor concludes, “with pride we told our two young artists about the long tradition and the many investments that brought us today to the completely circular system of his type we have today. Our deep conviction in supporting this project stems from the way it helps build the District’s identity and character through art.”

The process in its entirety provides the occasion to explore and enhance various aspects of our territory and see how they are translated in the artist’s vision and metaphor during a moment of reflection that teaches us that nothing must be taken for granted. Considered among the most interesting representatives of the new generation of Italian artists, Valentina Ornaghi and Claudio Prestinari began working together in 2009. “Our choice to work together as a pair reflects our need to develop each project through continuous dialogue and sharing, the artists declare, we make an effort to think of things as unified in order to avoid denying their complexity, to achieve coexistence rather than separate. We try to generate coexistence and equilibrium, linking apparently different worlds, preserve a range of possible meanings”.
The show presents a selection of works never seen before made expressly for the occasion and as a product of the process of meetings and exchange with Consorzio Depuratore. The theme of water, its treatment and return in a virtuous, vital circle, the sustainability of activities in the contemporary world, the idea di transformation, the life of objects and materials, the identity of our territories, and a reflection on the processes of transformation in progress, and last but not least important, the encounter with advanced purification technologies, represent the themes on which Ornaghi & Prestinari have reflected in this show’s project. Transformation is a theme the artists have developed in their work.
