You practice yoga and meditation. Does proximity to these disciplines help you in the design process of the work? Do you find similarities between holistic and artistic approaches?
Yoga and meditation are for me an ideal way to cure body and mind. In the last period, I often dedicate myself to these "spiritual exercises". Meditation also helps me greatly from an artistic point of view, since doing art primarily means listening to oneself, practicing creativity, concentration, living in the present. Many artists to create their works do a process similar to that of meditation, but in most cases they do not know it.
On the occasion of the opening of Bungalow Mantra you realized a performance related to Yoga ...
I used my body as part of the installation by practicing a Yoga position. The Brahmins, or priests (the most important caste in India), are believed to be pure souls. My purpose during performance was to feel within a mirage, aspiring to be a floating soul that can float around the installation.
On the occasion of the inauguration we also performed the Indian dancer Nadeshwari Joythimayananda and we received the welcome visit of the Tibetan Monk Thubten Wangchen, founder of the House of Tibet in Barcelona, and ambassador of Tibet in Europe for direct appointment of the Dalai Lama. Overall, a rich experience of cultural content and interchange on the West-East route.
