since the seventies up to the nineties, isn't replicable, since the city has ceased to be the heartland in the production, and especially in the artistic training, that for years represented the only real alternative model to the Milan one, known to be more biased towards the market.
On the third floor we found those artists born in the mid-sixties and that in 1991 were gathered by Renato Barilli and Roberto Daolio around the exhibition entitled Nuova Officina Bolognese. To the names of these art critics, real cultural animators of the city of Bologna, we must add Francesca Alinovi, brutally murdered on June 15, 1983, while among the galleries that have played an important supporting work to the Bolognese young art, we must quote the Neon Gallery by Gino Gianiuzzi, frequented in those years also by the young Cattelan who here in 1992 held his first solo exhibition. In those years Cattelan has been reallyy influenced by the Bolognese climate and the proximity to the artistic practice of Emilio Fantin (another leading exponent of this season, unfortunately not included in the exhibition). In the open space of the third floor there is a large spray painting on carpet created by Cuoghi Corsello, one of the most complete Italian artists, who shows with the use of a unique technique the shaky atmosphere that you can find in the modern arcades of Bologna. Next to their intervention there is Luca Caccioni, another member of that Officina, "who rolls out on a sheet a track – according to Barilli - enigmatic as the indecipherable signal printed on our soil by an extragalactic invaders". Another relevant personality is that of Eva Marisaldi, who has devoted part of her artistic practice to deepen the study of the two-dimensionality of the objects and the use of the horizontal surface of the spaces in which she exposed, that become the main source of inspiration
for her work.
