In 2016 the kestnergesellschaft is celebrating its 100th anniversary. With its artistic program, the institution has made art history, but can also look back on an unusual and singular history in politics and society. STELLUNG NEHMEN (TAKING POSITION): this theme, which is derived from the history of the institution and remains relevant to this day, is the focus of the diverse anniversary programme with exhibitions, artist discussions, lectures, workshops, and a festival open to all.
