The Nimiq 1 is Canada’s first direct broadcast digital TV satellite. This satellite travels around the Earth at 3.07 kilometers per second and is able to make a full orbit around the Earth in 1,437 minutes. This satellite follows a circular orbit pattern. Before launch it weighed 3,600 kilograms, which is about 7,920 pounds. This satellite can be bought for $237,000,000.
