STANLEY is the pioneer in measuring tools. We invented the first steel tape rules in 1930. In 1963, the classic D-shaped PowerLock ® design was introduced. It had the world’ s first coil-able spring and sliding lock, elements that continue to be the core of modern day designs. PowerLock ® was also a part of Apollo 11’ s Lunar Landing Gear in 1969.
