Shenakahra: Things that inspire me to create my music.....my life experiences, people watching, other people's opinions that I may or may not agree with, the moon, the candles flame oh and the air I breathe. :)
Brickhouse: Along with music, you have done a lot of voiceover work. Explain how you broke into that industry and some of the projects you have been apart of.
Shenakahra: As far as my voiceover work, it started off as a joke actually. Funny story my spouse and friends would say do your "900" voice just for fun. Well then one day I saw fiverr and thought hey, why not try doing voiceovers, so I did and have been doing it ever since 2010. My projects include a lot of indie video games where I am usually an evil woman or witch lol. I have also done a variety of radio commercials, jingles, Dj drops, meditation, erotic meditation, ASMR- Autonomous sensory meridian response, and personal affirmations. I'm sure there are other things but that is it in a nutshell babe oh and I love what I do - voiceovers and music. I have a show reel up on my soundcloud and youtube of some of my works *evil smile* lol
unexplainable. My music I think is darker but I have also written some uplifting songs as well. I am bitter and angry but life is so beautiful and precious so I am trying to find that balance and it is a challenge.
Brickhouse: We have just recently crossed into a new year. Do you have any new year's resolutions you would like to share with our readers?
Shenakahra: 2017! I am going to be me! Create my craft and spread it like a wildfire! Shenakahra's voice will be heard and getting people and fans out of their comfort zones is the goal. Open your minds, think for your self, keep it real, I am me you be you! Like it or not I will be touching on some tender spots from politics to religion and everywhere in between! Come on people it is 2017!!!

Brickhouse: Along with the obstacles you have had while attempting to share your creativity, you have another major battle you are facing with cancer treatment. How has that battle affected your life and creativity?
Shenakahra: Cancer...I am currently in remission from stage 3A breast cancer, 3 year survivor as of right now. My spouse now has stage 4 melanoma cancer and my dad passed away from multiple myeloma cancer on July 7th, 2016. So I say F*ck Cancer! Yes it has changed me....everyone says oh you are so lucky you should be grateful your still alive....well yeah of course I am but people don't understand unless they have or a family member has been diagnosed with cancer. I try to enjoy life one day at a time and try to keep my fear out of my head. It haunts you especially wondering will it come back along with watching other family members dying and going through this horror is unexplainable. have also written some uplifting songs as well. I am bitter and angry but life is so beautiful and precious so I am trying to find that balance and it is a challenge.
