I interviewed "The Personal Progress Helper." She is super sweet and helpful. When I was just starting Personal Progress she was the first person I turned to and gave amazing help! I asked her some questions including who her scriptural heroes are, what advice she has for other Personal Progress blogs, and her motivation to continue her blog. She gave some amazing answers that I cannot wait for you to read!
Her blog: thepersonalprogresshelper.com
Where you can contact her: through her blog or [email protected]
S&S: So, my first question is, if you could meet any one scripture hero, who would it be? Why?
PPH: I've always loved my namesake, Deborah, whose story is found in Judges. We know very little about her, just that she was a powerful leader whose courage eventually saved the Israelites. She's an amazing example of trusting the Lord and acting with confidence. I would be honored to meet her and learn more of her story.
S&S: That is SUPER cool! So, my next question is, what inspired you to start The Personal Progress Helper?
PPH: When I was 13 I was both really excited and really frustrated when it came to Personal Progress. I wanted to do it, but never felt very motivated and didn't know where to start. I turned to the internet for help finding ideas (this is before Pinterest was a thing) and didn't find anything very helpful, and the sites I did find were hard to navigate. So I ended up deciding to compile EVERYTHING I found into one place so I wouldn't have to search everywhere. Soon my tiny little blog full of ideas started picking up traffic from young women around the world and the rest is history.
S&S: That is really inspiring! What advice do you have for other Personal Progress blogs?
PPH: Be ambitious! Be willing to try out new ideas and don't hold back showing your personality. But also remember that ultimately it's personal, so your goal shouldn't always be to create the coolest website or get the most visitors -- focus on what matters to you and what has helped you work on Personal Progress -- that's something I really regret not doing enough of and I'm always so inspired by young women who are doing that.
