Mind
It’s almost the end of the school year which
means summer vacation and the promise of
fun! But don’t pack your beach bag just yet,
because you probably have a few end of year
tests that need to be taken care of first. I know,
bummer.
But never fear! I’m here to help you with a few
study tips that will make the most of your study
sessions.
study tips
After you’ve put study time into your schedule,
you can organize that time into blocks that
meet your needs. Maybe you’ll need an hour to
study for a history exam or maybe you’ll have
to spend some time making flashcards for
those biology vocabulary words.
No matter what subject you have to study, the
important thing is that you have a daily schedule so that you’re continually putting information into memory and not trying to cram it in at
the last minute....picture shoving your face full
of marshmallows, you just can’t keep them all
in. But if you eat one marshmallow at a time,
well that just works! And tastes yummy.

Make a study zone. You need a
place that’s quiet and comfortable so
that your mind can focus. This could
be in your bedroom, at the library, or
just a quiet place in your home.

Set a daily schedule. There are so many
things going on in your life right now!
Schoolwork, soccer practice, Young
Women’s, cleaning your room, seminary,
worrying about boys, working on Personal Progress, piano lessons, babysitting your younger siblings, and the list goes on
and on! And unless you’ve got a memo-board
in your brain (hey, maybe you do!) it’s extremely helpful to have a daily schedule
planned and written.
Since most activities have a set time, get a calendar and write them all down for the upcoming week. Then it will be easy to see when you
have gaps that are perfect for studying.
