Webco acquires Sea-Cure ® stainless steel tubing brand
Webco Industries , Inc ., has announced the acquisition of the SEA-CURE ® brand and all related trademark and intellectual property rights from Plymouth Tube Company . SEA-CURE ® is a strong , highly corrosion-resistant super-ferritic alloy designed specifically for severe application environments , including chemical production , oil and gas , petrochemical , power generation , and others . SEA-CURE ® has specific benefits for heat exchanger tubing applications , a market in which Webco has long been a recognized leader . With the acquisition , Webco becomes the global supplier of SEA-CURE ® brand stainless steel tubing . In addition to the brand , production rights , and licensing , SEA-CURE ® champion and metallurgist , Dan Janikowski , is partnering with the Webco team to promote and enhance the SEA-CURE ® brand .
AMETEK Land with Danieli enhance safety in steel plants
AMETEK Land has helped a major metals industry plant designer to enhance safety , control , and efficiency in steel plants . Based in Buttrio , Italy , Danieli & C . Officine Meccaniche S . p . A . ( Danieli ) is a global manufacturer in the production of steel plants . Danieli partnered with AMETEK Land to create the Danieli Automatic Electric Arc Furnace ( EAF ) Tapping System , which significantly improves safety and control during the tapping process . The system uses two of AMETEK Land ’ s renowned thermal imaging systems : the Slag Detection System ( SDS-E ), branded as Danieli ’ s Q-Slag , and the near-infrared ( NIR ) fixed thermal imager that is an integral part of the Ladle Level Detection ( LLD ) system . The resulting system has successfully addressed critical challenges in steel production by enhancing safety , process control , and efficiency through innovative automated tapping systems .

Chevron starts production at the Anchor project
Chevron Corporation ( CVX ) has started oil and natural gas production from the Anchor project in the deepwater U . S . Gulf of Mexico . Anchor production marks the successful delivery of high-pressure technology that is rated to safely operate at up to 20,000 psi , with reservoir depths reaching 34,000 feet below sea level . The Anchor semi-submersible floating production unit ( FPU ) has a design capacity of 75,000 gross barrels of oil per day and 28 million gross cubic feet of natural gas per day . The Anchor development will consist of seven subsea wells tied into the Anchor FPU , located in the Green Canyon area , approximately 140 miles ( 225 km ) off the coast of Louisiana , in water depths of approximately 5,000 feet ( 1,524 m ). Total potentially recoverable resources from the Anchor field are estimated to be up to 440 million barrels of oil equivalent . The Anchor FPU is Chevron ’ s sixth operated facility currently producing in the U . S . Gulf of Mexico , one of the lowest carbon intensity oil and gas basins in the world . Chevron ’ s operated and non-operated facilities in the Gulf of Mexico are expected to produce a combined 300,000 net barrels of oil equivalent per day by 2026 . To reduce carbon emissions , the Anchor FPU was designed as an all-electric facility with electric motors and electronic controls . Additionally , the FPU utilizes waste heat and vapor recovery units as well as existing pipeline infrastructure to transport oil and natural gas directly to U . S . Gulf Coast markets .
McDermott has been awarded an engineering , procurement , construction , installation ( EPCI ), hook up , and commissioning contract by Shell Trinidad and Tobago Limited for the Manatee gas field development project , located 60 miles ( 100 km ) off the southeast coast of Trinidad and Tobago . The award follows the successful delivery of the front-end engineering design , detailed engineering , and long lead procurement service contracts for the project ’ s initial design and execution planning . Under the contract scope , McDermott will design , procure , fabricate , hook up , and commission a platform and jacket . The company will also provide design , installation , and commissioning services for a 32-inch gas pipeline that will connect the platform to a gas processing facility operated by Shell . The contract scope also includes design , procurement , installation , and testing services for a fiber optic cable . “ This award leverages our unique , integrated EPCI capabilities and legacy of engineering excellence and innovation to successfully deliver large offshore platforms and complex subsea infrastructure worldwide ,” said Mahesh Swaminathan , McDermott ’ s Senior Vice President , Subsea and Floating Facilities . “ The Manatee project builds on our track record of successful project execution for Shell and exemplifies our commitment to building energy infrastructure required to meet demand .” This contract award also demonstrates our continued commitment to working in Trinidad and Tobago to support the future supply of gas to its domestic and export markets .
