Outokumpu & Nordic Steel sustainable strategy
Outokumpu is partnering with Nordic Steel to introduce sustainable stainless steel in Norway . The collaboration supports the sustainability strategy for both companies and enables Nordic Steel to be the first in Norway to offer the solution to its customers . Outokumpu ’ s Circle Green production was the first of its kind globally , as no other stainless steel manufacturer has been able to produce stainless steel with such low emission levels when taking into account all the climate emissions from raw material extraction through the whole production chain . Outokumpu produces Circle Green in Finland – from Nordic Steel ’ s perspective , this means that the transportation to Norway is shorter than from many other steel manufacturers .

Boris Hadjipetrov continuous improvement efforts , problem-solving , and process development and control . Prior to joining Fine Tubes , Hadjipetrov held positions as a Manufacturing Engineer and Product Engineer , working on similar remits and building up solid experience in the field . Fine Tubes manufactures high-quality seamless and welded precision tubing products that perform in mission-critical applications .

Marc-Simon Schaar has been appointed as Chief Procurement Officer and member of Outokumpu Leadership Team . Marc-Simon Schaar has been working at Outokumpu since 2011 in senior roles in finance , M & A and raw materials procurement , most recently as SVP , Raw Materials Procurement .

Rodrigo receives the VII Acerinox Award

Marina Valero Rodrigo , a student from the School of Industrial Engineering of Ciudad Real , University of Castilla- La Mancha , won the VII Acerinox Award thanks to her project “ Design of printable filaments of 316L Stainless Steel master alloys .” The jury highlighted the high quality of the finalists ’ projects , among which Marina Valero ’ s stood out for its complexity in reaching an optimised solution for each step of the production process , going beyond the theoretical level and achieving its application in a real physical part . The innovation of the project lies in the use of master alloys , powders with useful characteristics not explored in FFF , and in the use of a shear model that allows the determination of the best printing conditions .
