Reliance , Inc . acquires American Alloy Steel , Inc .
will produce sustainable fuels for aviation , maritime , and land transport , reducing CO2 emissions by up to 90 %. This project reinforces Duro Felguera ’ s role as a major player in the energy transition and decarbonisation process , by putting its experience and capacity at the service of the transformation process of the energy and industrial sector with the aim of achieving a more sustainable world , with productive activities that respect the environment .
Reliance , Inc . ( RS ) has announced that effective April 1 , 2024 , it has completed its acquisition of all of the outstanding equity interests and related real estate assets of American Alloy Steel , Inc . ( American Alloy ). Headquartered in Houston , Texas , and founded in 1971 , American Alloy is a distributor of specialty carbon and alloy steel plate and round bar , including pressure vessel quality ( PVQ ) material . The acquisition of American Alloy increases Reliance ’ s value-added processing and fabrication capabilities and expands the Company ’ s specialty carbon steel plate product portfolio . This transaction fits within Reliance ’ s acquisition strategy of acquiring immediately accretive companies with strong management teams . The current American Alloy team , including management , will remain in place . For the twelve months ended December 31 , 2023 , annual net sales for American Alloy were approximately USD 310M . The terms of the transaction were not disclosed .
Engine-driven welding machines include integrated air compressors
Miller Electric Mfg . LLC has released the Bobcat 265 Air Pak and Trailblazer 330 Air Pak engine-driven welding machines with integrated industrial rotary-screw air compressors . The compact all-in-one machines also offer multiprocess weld quality , auxiliary power , and battery charge / crank assist for maintenance , repair operations , and field fabrication . Both machines allow operators to run air impact wrenches and give 100 % deliverable air . The compressor produces 30 CFM of air at a 100 % duty cycle and delivers 80 to 160 PSI of air with an optional storage tank . Auto-set technology helps simplify weld parameter setup . Front panel predictive maintenance displays alert the operator when equipment needs to be serviced .
TechnipFMC awarded a large subsea contract
Calderería Pesada to manufacture 7 reactors
CEPSA Bioenergía San Roque SL has awarded Duro Felguera Calderería Pesada a contract to manufacture 7 reactors for its new biofuel refinery complex at the La Rábida energy park in Palos de la Frontera , Huelva . The reactors are between 2 and 4m in diameter , up to 30m long , with wall thicknesses of more than 100mm and weights of up to 480 tonnes . They are designed in low alloy materials , with high nickel content and stainless steel interior coatings . The project includes the mechanical design of the equipment , its complete manufacture in the workshop , tests , and trials , and transport to CEPSA ’ s new green refinery in La Rábida , Huelva , which will manufacture second-generation biofuels from organic waste , such as used cooking oils or agricultural waste , thus promoting the circular economy . TechnipFMC ( NYSE ) has been awarded a large contract in Guyana ’ s Stabroek Block by Exxon Mobil Corporation affiliate ExxonMobil Guyana Limited to supply subsea production systems for the Whiptail project . TechnipFMC will provide project management , engineering , and manufacturing to deliver 48 subsea trees and associated tooling , as well as 12 manifolds and associated controls and tie-in equipment . Jonathan Landes , President of Subsea at TechnipFMC , commented : “ ExxonMobil Guyana will utilize the Subsea 2.0 ® systems and manifolds , which help provide schedule certainty . We have already delivered more than 100 subsea trees for ExxonMobil Guyana – the location of one of the world ’ s fastest developing basins – and we look forward to deepening the relationship with them through Whiptail .” TechnipFMC currently employs nearly 140 Guyanese and expects to continue to hire and train additional local staff in support of this award . Whiptail is TechnipFMC ’ s most recent award from ExxonMobil Guyana , where the Company has been awarded subsea production system contracts since the first contract award in 2017 for Liza Phase 1 .
