Vallourec signs a partnership agreement with NEXTCHEM
Paralloy to provide vital components for Ras Laffan
Vallourec and NextChem Tech have signed a partnership agreement aimed at integrating Delphy hydrogen storage solution . The two partners will study the integration of the Delphy storage solution , developed by Vallourec , into green hydrogen projects NEXTCHEM is participating in . The cooperation will focus on the synergies between NEXTCHEM ’ s world leading proprietary green ammonia production technologies and Vallourec ’ s high-capacity hydrogen storage . This agreement marks a further step for Vallourec in the rollout of its Delphy solution in the hydrogen storage market . Delphy is a large-scale vertical solution consisting of an underground system capable of storing up to 100 tonnes of gaseous hydrogen under maximum safety conditions . The system is designed for green hydrogen producers and users for industrial applications and heavy mobility .
Paralloy has started work on a major contract to provide vital components for one of the world ’ s biggest petrochemical projects . It has designed and will produce nearly 400 radiant coils to be installed inside the seven steam cracking furnaces in the frame of the USD 6bn Ras Laffan Petrochemicals Project in Qatar . The project is a joint venture between Chevron Phillips Chemical and QatarEnergy and will occupy a 435-acre site with a capacity of 2080 Kilo Tons per annum , making it the largest ethane cracker in the Middle East and one of the biggest in the world . Building work started in February and operations are due to start in 2026 . The Ras Laffen facility has been designed to maximise energy efficiency during both its construction and operation , and Paralloy is making a key contribution to the project ’ s environmental considerations as the coils will be cast in electrical induction furnaces which are powered by certified renewable energies .
BUTTING CryoTech aerospace orders
BUTTING CryoTech from Burgkirchen has received a total of four orders from Isar Aerospace . One order for BUTTING CryoTech involved the production of 1,100 metres of vacuum-insulated transfer pipe systems . These process pipes , ranging in size from DN 40 to DN 100 , were prefabricated into a total of 171 spools with a permanent high vacuum . Material 304 / 304L was selected for the process pipe and 316 / 316L for the vacuum envelope . Complete detailed engineering was developed for this order based on a provided 3D model . The supervisor service was also commissioned in Norway – consisting of monitoring the installation , the welded joints and the pressure tests , as well as carrying out the evacuation process of the joints ( welded couplings ) including the helium leakage test procedure .
