USA Rare Earth boost value chain in France
USA Rare Earth, Inc., through its subsidiary Less Common Metals( LCM) Europe SAS, has announced plans to develop a 3,750 metric ton per annum( mtpa) metal and alloy production facility in Lacq, France. The facility will be co-located with Carester SAS’ 1,600 mtpa Caremag oxide processing facility in Lacq, which is scheduled for commissioning in late 2026. Together, this platform will establish a comprehensive supply chain for rare earth processing, metal and alloy production in Europe.
YG-1 introduces PVD milling grade YG904
YG-1 has introduced YG904, a new PVD-coated milling grade developed to meet the growing challenges of machining difficult-to-cut materials. Engineered with a specially developed substrate and advanced PVD coating technology, YG904 delivers stable and consistent performance in demanding milling environments. The newly developed coating provides exceptional resistance to thermal cracking and maintains reliability under high-impact and unstable cutting conditions. As a result, YG904 grade ensures consistent surface finish, reliable tool life, and process stability. YG904 grade performs effectively in both interrupted and continuous cutting operations and is well suited for machining high-temperature alloys, titanium alloys, and martensitic stainless steels, where durability and repeatable performance are critical. To enhance application flexibility, the grade is available in various insert styles, including APKT, ENMX, round inserts, and the TPKT series, covering most general milling requirements.
SMS supplies hydraulic forging lines
Haynes International Inc., a major manufacturer of nickel- and cobalt- based alloys, headquartered in Kokomo, Indiana and part of North American Stainless is a subsidiary of the Acerinox Group, has commissioned SMS group to supply a powerful hydraulic radial forging line. The project includes the supply of the radial forging line from SMS group, comprising the SMX 800 / 25 MN hydraulic radial forging machine, reheating and annealing furnaces and quenching equipment. The line is completed by loading robot, cutting, unloading and bar finishing equipment providing a fully integrated, automated solution for high performance alloy component production.
