Swiss Steel: A-score in CDP rating
SAF( Sustainable Aviation Fuel) production plant next to Outokumpu’ s stainless steel mill in Tornio, Finland. Under the signed MoU, Norsk e-Fuel will start a feasibility study in 2026. If the study leads to positive results, Norsk e-Fuel anticipates taking an investment decision around 2028, with production start planned for 2032. Outokumpu would provide carbon monoxide( CO) side streams from its ferrochrome production as a feedstock for the production of 80,000-100,000 tons of eSAF annually, supporting the EU’ s eSAF quota and advancing the decarbonisation of aviation. Once operational, the eSAF plant would create financial value for Outokumpu through increased side stream utilisation.
Swiss Steel Group has been awarded the highest rating,“ A,” in CDP’ s annual sustainability assessment for climate change for the second consecutive year. This distinction, conferred by the internationally recognised non-profit organisation CDP, underscores the Group’ s continued commitment to climate action and sustainable business practices. This achievement reinforces Swiss Steel Group’ s position as a leader in corporate transparency and action on climate change, standing out from nearly 22,100 companies assessed.

SECO / WARWICK will supply a Vector vacuum furnace to the Marle Group, a manufacturer of orthopaedic prosthetics headquartered in Europe. The equipment will be installed in France at Marle Nowak’ s facility, which specializes in the production of orthopaedic implants, surgical instruments, spinal devices, and OEM manufacturing for the medical sector. The single-chamber furnace will be used for heat treating implants and surgical tools. The contract was secured thanks to successful reference trials conducted at SECO / WARWICK’ s R & D department.
Moly usage rises in Q3 2025
International Molybdenum Association( IMOA) showed that global production of molybdenum remained broadly static at 167.8 mlbs in Q3 2025, whereas the global usage of molybdenum in Q3 2025 rose by 3 % to 169.1 mlbs compared to the previous quarter and the same quarter of the previous year. China remained the major producer of molybdenum at 75.3 mlbs- a 1 % fall compared to the previous quarter; South America with molybdenum 43.9 mlbs- a 1 % rise on the previous quarter. Production in North America fell 3 % to 32.3 mlbs compared with the previous quarter. Production in Other Regions rose 1 % to 16.3 mlbs compared to the previous quarter. China remained the major user of molybdenum at 87.4 mlbs- a 6 % rise compared to the previous quarter. Europe, the second major user of molybdenum, saw a fall of 13 % to 26.4 mlbs compared to the previous quarter- a 7 % fall compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
