New Chairman & President for Nippon Steel Corporation
On January 12 during a meeting of the Board of Directors , Nippon Steel Corporation announced two appointments Mr Tadashi IMAI for company Chairman and President , effective as of April 1 , 2024 . The Representative Director , Chairman and CEO is Mr Eiji HASHIMOTO ( currently Representative Director and President ). The Representative Director , President and COO is Mr Tadashi IMAI ( currently Representative Director and Executive Vice President ).
Alloy Wire International celebrates one-year anniversary
Export successes , security of supply and making every member of the business a shareholder have been just some of the highlights of a record-breaking year for Alloy Wire International ( AWI ). One of the UK ’ s leading manufacturers of round , flat and profile wire has delivered GBP 17.9m of sales since the MBO twelve months ago , a near GBP 5m rise on the
same period in 2022 and GBP 3m above anticipated revenues . The senior management team of Tom Mander ( Managing Director ), Adam Shaw ( Finance Director ) and Andrew Du Plessis ( Technical Director ) have put the expansion down to a resurgence in oil and gas and aerospace volumes returning post the pandemic , plus ongoing growth in automotive and new opportunities in R & D and space exploration . They have also underlined the growing importance of AWI ’ s commitment to a 400-tonne stockholding in material and its ability to supply a 60-strong range of exotic alloys in just three weeks . “ The last year has surpassed all of our expectations and capped a tremendous twelve months since we completed the MBO ,” explained Tom , who has worked in the business since July 2005 . “ One of the first things we wanted to do when we took over was extend the Employee Ownership model to every member of staff , meaning all of our 33-strong workforce at the time became shareholders in the business .” Alloy Wire International manufactures round , flat and profile wire in 60 Exotic alloys , such as Inconel , Monel , Hastelloy , Nimonic and Waspaloy .
ESAB & AWS scholarship program
ESAB has launched its Future Fabricators Program with the announcement of 12 scholarships in the amount of USD 5,000 each that are awarded through the American Welding Society ( AWS ) Foundation . ESAB ’ s Future Fabricators program was developed for aspiring welders and fabricators to provide tools , equipment , scholarships , training and educational materials to technical and trade education programs from high schools to four-year welding engineering programs across North America . “ ESAB Scholarships provide significant financial support for welding students across the country , allowing those individuals to focus on their education and training rather than the burden of paying for school . The AWS Foundation is proud to partner with ESAB to provide these 12 scholarships annually and looks forward to creating brighter futures for aspiring welding professionals for years to come ,” says Monica Pfarr , Executive Director , AWS Foundation .
