Mill Steel Co ., the distributor of flat-rolled carbon steel announces its expansion into the flat-rolled stainless steel and aluminum metal markets with the acquisition of Cleveland Metal Exchange ( CME ) and Chicago Stainless Metal Exchange . This represents the largest acquisition to date for Mill Steel Co . A full line of stainless steel and aluminum products is now available through the Mill Steel Stainless and Aluminum division led by industry experts , former CME CEO , Randy Horvat , and President , Jeff Haas . In addition , the entire CME team , with over 200 years of combined experience in the sourcing and processing of stainless and aluminum products , is joining Mill Steel ’ s seasoned team of carbon flat-rolled specialists . Mill Steel plans to leverage its vast processing footprint and dedicated carrier network along with CME ’ s extensive supply chain to bring competitively priced aluminum and stainless products to market . The company will immediately assume steel processing and supply for CME ’ s broad array of manufacturing , automotive , and construction industry customers in the Southeastern , Mid- South , and Western United States .

, argon , or mixed gas blends used for TIG , MIG , and gas-shielded flux cored welding . The HRF2400 Pro offers the highest flow range available , 70CFH ( cubic feet per hour ). The new design makes it easier and faster to set accurate flow rate . Large , bold , markings on the flow tube , as well as a rotatable scale , make it easier to read the flow rate from a distance . The HRF2400 offers up to 6X longer application runtime when using CO 2
( which is prone to freezing ) and more consistent flow delivery over the life of the cylinder . ESAB ’ s Precision Hi-Res Linear Flow Adjustment technology provides the smoothest and most consistent gas flow setting . Other systems adjust well at lower flows , but then become overly sensitive at higher flows , causing flow rates to jump and spike when the operator turns the knob . In comparison , the precision needle valve in HRF2400 adjusts smoothly throughout its entire range , eliminating the frustration and inaccurate flow readings that can lead to quality issues . Acerinox will invest USD 244m in its largest stainless steel factory in the USA . The new equipment planned with this investment will be aimed at increasing the volume of flat products , with a special focus on upping the production of those with greater value-added , such as BA ( Bright Annealing ) and special composition steels . NAS will have a new cold rolling mill , upgrade its annealing and pickling lines , and enlarge the melt shop to include a 400 metric tonne crane , among other equipment . These investments will create 70 new jobs in addition to the factory ’ s 1,600 employees and 500 local suppliers . Acerinox and Kentucky Governor , Andy Beshear , announced the investment ( the thirteenth since 1990 ) at a joint press conference .
Tenova supplies EAF for Valbruna ASW Inc .
Tenova , a company in sustainable solutions for the green transition of the metals industry , recently completed the successful start-up of the new 70t EAF at the Valbruna ASW Inc . plant , located in Welland , Ontario ( Canada ). Valbruna ASW is a premier specialty steel producer that manufactures highquality steel and stainless steel . Tenova ’ s latest generation EAF unit has replaced an older EAF vessel . The spout shape of the new furnace will provide an increase in melt shop productivity as well as an improvement to the production reliability of manufacturing specific highquality steel and stainless steel grades . The scope of supply also included associated auxiliary equipment , the innovative TDRH 4.0 ( Tenova Digital Regulator and Harmonics ) electrode regulation system , the KT ( Koester Technologies ) chemical injection system , a ladle-charging material handling system , and complete EAF automation . The KT chemical injection system is designed to fit the wide range of process needs , balancing energy distribution and increasing efficiency and productivity . The new automation system provides several advantages which will increase the efficiency of the plant . The system will guarantee the correct execution of the working cycle in relation to the production of different steel grades while optimising the parameters and storage of production data . The system is also designed to comply with all safety standards .
