AWI strengthens long-term future
Alloy Wire International ( AWI )’ s senior management team , comprising Managing Director Tom Mander , Technical Director Andrew Du Plessis and Finance Director Adam Shaw , has purchased the business from the current owners , cementing the Black Country firm ’ s long-term future . The deal will see all 33 members of staff become shareholders in the business , reinforcing a company-wide commitment to each other and its 6000-strong global customer base . The trio have also started a near GBP 1m investment drive that will see new wet drawing and single hole dry drawing machines arrive during the course of the year , along with an annealing line spooler and several hundred tonnes of raw material . AWI manufactures round , flat and profile wire in over 60 exotic alloys , such as Inconel , Monel , Hastelloy , Nimonic and Waspaloy .

ArcelorMittal Europe – Flat Products and Gonvarri Industries have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate more closely on reducing CO 2 emissions and strengthening both companies ’ sustainability performance in the automotive market . The agreement focuses on the two companies working on common sustainability projects , including the use of ArcelorMittal ’ s XCarb reduced and low-carbon products , as well as identifying ways to strengthen the circular economy both within and beyond the manufacturing and purchase of steel products .
CRC Evans has announced the creation of a major welding and coating services provider following a merger between four market-leading organisations . The merger sees Pipeline Technique , CRC-Evans Pipeline International , Pipeline Induction Heat and Global Project Services unite under the CRC Evans banner , accelerating the company ’ s ambition to be the major provider of welding and coating services for the energy and wider infrastructure sectors , including emerging energies , as the global transition gathers pace . The new CRC Evans ( CRCE ) business brings together more than 1,000 employees across five continents .
